Lustful Dreams Fulfilled

We like to spend a lot of our time every year finding new campsites for the future. With more and more public lands being closed to camping each year, and more and more people camping each year, having some extra spots in your back pocket makes sense.

In recent years we've found ourselves marking sites that we knew we couldn't get into with our old 5th wheel, but we knew would be perfect when we had an off road capable trailer.

We've found several such sites within a 15 mile radius of Quartzsite, AZ. It's nice being able to be close to Quartzsite, where more than a million RVs congregate each year, and still be able to camp where we never see/hear any other campers the entire time.

People who have been to Quartzsite in the winter will say that's impossible. We hope everyone keeps thinking that way.

All it takes is some searching and a trailer that can get through those last few arroyos that scare off all the other campers. Photos like these don't tell the story as well as a video would, but we're not into multimedia. Where we used to be limited by where the trailer could go, we're now limited by where the truck will go.

Once we made it off the access road, it was smooth sailing overland for about 3/4 of a mile on the smooth AZ desert pavement.

Finally settled in at camp. All in one piece. Nothing fallen out or broken on the inside.

Next stop will be the Mohave National Preserve in Nevada.
